A hand carved memorial is a special way to mark the passing of a loved one.
I design each one to be as unique as the person who has died. It is important that the stone, letterforms, and imagery reflect the spirit of the deceased, which is why I work closely with the bereaved during the design phase. Once finalized, all of the letters and imagery are carved by hand, using nothing more than a hammer and chisel.

This memorial is on the Hazel Path at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
Pet graves tend to be smaller in size and make for great memorials in a home garden.
Anniversary stones make great gifts; they are lasting reminders of a promise taken and life shared.
HOUSE NUMBER STONES
A number carved in slate makes a striking addition to any building. The type of stone can be selected to match the color of the house. In addition, the chiseled numbers can be gilded or painted.
Letters carved into slate makes for striking (and lasting) signage. This one was created for a french bistro in Boston's Beacon Hill.
