Here is Steve Jobs, clad in his iconic
turtleneck and jeans, on stage forever at his revolutionary key note addresses.
Instead of introducing a single product, he is presenting the company
as a whole. He said, after all, that it is Apple as a company, and not
the isolated products, which will be remembered. Apple is represented
with the original logo, and I painted Jobs’ flesh to mirror the
colors that comprise it – instilling an even deeper connection between
the man and his company. Additionally, I’ve presented Jobs as an
older man, yet introducing Apple in its youth, which allows viewers to
admire the longevity of the brand.
Business executives and CEOs are often painted in a standard,
non-experimental, and quite frankly boring, fashion. Jobs deserved a portrait
in sync with his individuality and innovativeness. Ultimately, I wanted
this portrait to convey Jobs’ love of design, Apple’s iconic
stature, and the fluency between Apple and Jobs. |
